Lights at Temple Square

The day after Thanksgiving we invited friends to go out for Rubio's and then we headed downtown to see all the lights. It was gorgeous! Then we went to Paradise Bakery for hot chocolate and snickerdoodles. This is the second year we have gone to see the lights. I think we have a new tradition.

Our baby turned two on Thanksgiving. He was so happy to open new books, Cars, and a train. He keeps us entertained with his songs: "Sunbeam," and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." He talks a lot, and he has the cutest little voice. He is growing up too fast...he shares the bunk beds with Hunter and we just took the crib down this weekend. Sad. Happy birthday, Porty!

Hair

A change is just what I needed, so I decided to go dark! I love it. Porter wasn't so sure. He didn't want me to hold him for a while when I got home, but now he is ok with it.

Baby Wyatt

Oh my, Baby Wyatt is so adorable. He is James' cousin, Tiffanie's baby. Everyone took turns holding him, including Emily! Congratulations, Ben and Tiff!

We spent my birthday doing what I wanted to do. I wanted to spend the day with my family, and get a few things that I had been wanting to spend my birthday money on. I found a great pair of boots at the Nordstrom sale, a cute denim jacket at Anthropologie, we got lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, followed by a carmel apple from Rocky Mtn. Chocolate Factory. Our baby sitter came over and we met Greg, Mary, Terri and Brian for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was a very fun day!

Day off

After parent conferences, the teachers get a compensation day, which means no school! It was a warm fall day so we took Curren and Emily to the Hogle Zoo! The little boys and I go often, but this was the first time we all went (minus James). The train ride was first and then we made sure to see the babies--elephant and giraffe. We brought a picnic lunch and it felt so good to be outside!

Trick or Treating

The whole gang, ready for trick or treating in our neighborhood. The Royle family wins for coolest house: they had the garage all decorated and made popcorn and cotton candy for everyone!

Curren's baptism

Curren and his cousin Kenah were baptised on Halloween. Russ and Rebecca, Papa and Nana Ellsworth came all the way from California to be with us for this special day. Following the baptism we watched movies of Curren and Kenah that were various pictures from their childhood so far. Then James confirmed Curren a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gave him a special blessing. The spirit was so strong that day. I know it's a day he will remember.

Pack Meeting

We all went to his first Cub Scout pack meeting right before his birthday. He earned his Bobcat and got a patch for his shirt and then he gave me a pin. So sweet! Pack meetings are fun for the whole family. I think he is going to love the scouting program.

Halloween at School

The schools in Utah are way into Halloween, so there is a huge parade for all the families. Papa and Nana Ellsworth were in town for the big birthday/baptism weekend, so they also celebrated Halloween with us.

It's great to be 8! We celebrated Curren's big birthday at Bouncin' Off the Walls. Here he is with cousins and friends. They had tons of fun running around and playing on all of the blow-up slides and obstacle courses. Thanks everyone for coming!
