Update

I have been busy painting downstairs whenever the boys are asleep so I never have time to blog! Well, today I had planned to finish the dining room, but ran out of paint. So, I can blog, do facebook, etc!
On Sunday, at church, Emily ran to throw something away in the trash can in the hall. She tripped on her way back in. As she got closer to her seat, she told James, "I think Jesus tripped me. He doesn't want me running in the church!"
Porter is understanding so much now when we talk to him. New words he says:

huh--yes
gook--book
go, go--let's go!
guy--car
jooj--juice

We are constantly working in our yard to clear out all the over grown shrubs. James got the chainsaw out after work and didn't come in until it was really dark outside. We hope to get the front cleared enough to plant grass seed and then we'll start working on the back.

He's a Lego Maniac

After many hours of work, the Lego Technic excavator is complete! Curren worked so hard on this and is so proud. He asked to photograph it and post it on my blog. James helped him a little bit, but we are amazed that he did so much of it on his own. (The kit is for kids age 9-12), so not too bad for a 7 year old! Now he needs the power functions to make it move on it's own. (They're back-ordered until May, unfortunately).

Porter, 15 months

Porter is walking all over the place now! He is down to one nap a day and loves to play with blocks and push or pull toys. There isn't anything cuter than watching him pull the Fisher-Price puppy down the hall.

Some of his words:
hotch (hot): bath
hi: said with head tilted like he's talking on the phone
dad
mama
dis: what's this?
shoe: sock

Fun Friday

The kids were out of school on Friday and since it was 38 degrees outside we had to find something fun to do indoors. We decided to check out the City Library in Salt Lake. It was amazing! It is just enormous. The kids loved the glass elevator and all the neat architectural things to play with. The children's library was top-notch. As a children's literature lover, I was very impressed with their collection of books. They had many copies of popular books which is so great. Usually when you go to a branch library all the good books are checked out. There was an "attic" area with cozy little corners for reading or playing. Next to that was a baby area with rockers and a diaper changing counter with a sink, too! (I love when a place is family friendly!) It is a beautiful library that is almost like a museum. Another reason to love Salt Lake City.

Draper Temple Open House

My dad was here for a visit at the beginning of February. We went to the open house at the Draper temple. It is beautiful! I loved the bride's room and the chandelier in the celestial room was amazing. We are excited to be able to attend a brand new temple.

Bathroom Remodel

Rebecca asked me for pictures of our bathrooms, so I thought I would just post them on my blog. The upstairs bathrooms were just too nasty for before pictures. The floor was moldy and rotten and the tub was pink and gross. Greg did an awesome job tiling, etc. I love the granite and we painted both bathrooms Light Silver Sage from Restoration Hardware. It reminds me of the beach, for some reason and I want to put a picture of the kids at the beach up in there. They might be a lot smaller than the bathrooms we had in Texas, but they are pretty.

Hunter, ready for church

Hunter, almost 3:
Loves cars from the movie, "Cars", Thomas, and playing outside with Curren and Emily
Eats very little besides Gogurts and apple juice in a sippy cup
Makes everyone laugh
Says things like, "Don't talk to me!!" when he is upset
I love snuggling him and falling asleep with him at nap time

Girls' Day

Last Saturday it was starting to feel like spring! Emily and I spent a few hours out without the boys. We put on cute clothes (LOVE her new navy coat) and headed out to Salt Lake. I love that we live near so many great things and that I know my way around. The 9th and 9th area now has some neat little shops. We went to a vintage shop called Emilie Jayne and it was fun to browse through. Then we headed over to The Children's Hour which is one of our favorite places. They have all kinds of cool boutique brands (not cheap), clothes, shoes, toys. Emily found a stuffed animal that she couldn't live without and then we had lunch at Great Harvest. I love bread and they make a pretty good turkey sandwich. When we lived in University Village we would shop at the Smith's in this area. It was so fun to spend time with my favorite little girl and she can't wait to do it again. (Me, too!)
